We have a map in our mind of our known world.
The places we can drive without GPS.
Repetitive relationship dynamics.
Customers whose orders you could pre-write.
Much of life is predictable. If it wasn’t we would be overwhelmed by uncertainty, frozen in a perpetual state of anxiety, clinically agoraphobic.
We must be careful. Too much predictable is boring and boring destructiveness equals anxieties. It is thought that fear and excitement are the same experience wrapped in different stories. The fear story says stay safe, excitement remembers that life is best lived just off the map.
